The purpose of this blog is to explore the use of the English language in global commerce. For many companies in non English-speaking countries, translation of marketing materials and product documentation is often done by non-native speakers who may not have complete mastery of the English language. This often results in broken or even incorrect English. With any language there also are nuances that can be lost in translation. English-speaking consumers can be sensitive to these subtle clues and may judge a product or service based on the quality of the English that is used by the company.
